Steroids in Baseball

Should We Accept Steroid Use in Baseball?

This article dealt with the issue of steroids in sports. Julian Savulescu says that to ban steroids to decrease performance is like to ban alcohol at parties to decrease sociability. He means that steroids make the players more fun to watch due to the higher skill level of taking steroids. However, people like George Michael say that legalizing performance-enhancing drugs would be too expensive and would ruin the natural competitive level of sports. I say that steroids shouldn't be allowed in sports because not all people are willing to take steroids to enhance their performance. If steroids were legal most players would want to take them in order to increase their stats. However it doesn't seem fair because some players would not want to do anything to mess up their body, such as take the performance-enhancing drugs.

Does legalizing steroids in sports ruin the competitive nature of the game or does it just make the game more entertaining to watch?
